MacOS Compatibility with Microsoft Remote Desktop

User has a Macbook running Catalina.  
 
Uses Microsoft RDP to remote into their server, which has Webcam for RDP server version installed.
 
No video feed when running Webcam for RDP, Mac version, on the laptop and remoting in with Microsoft RDP. Is it not compatible, and if not, are there plans for compatibility? FreeRDP mac version is a bit complicated to install and find a correct installer for, and the rest of the suggested apps in the user guide cost even more.
