Device redirection challenge

Remote desktops have become a key part of modern IT infrastructure, enabling remote access, centralized management, and true flexibility. While desktops have moved to the cloud or data centers, peripheral devices remain on the local side. Printers, scanners, webcams, USB security keys, smart card readers, audio devices, and specialized hardware like signature pads or barcode scanners are all integral to daily workflows. Yet, seamless redirection of these devices in remote session environment remains an unsolved challenge.
Filling the gap: FabulaTech device redirection
To bridge the gap left by standard remote desktop environments, FabulaTech offers a full range of peripheral device redirection solutions. It’s built around two components: the Workstation module, installed on the local computer running the Remote Desktop Client software, and the Server module, deployed in the remote desktop environment.

Once both components are in place and the remote session is active, FabulaTech seamlessly extends the remote desktop functionality, enabling local peripheral devices to be used as if they were directly connected to the remote system.
Configuration and control: simple for users, scalable for enterprises
FabulaTech solutions are designed for ease of use. Once the user connects to the remote desktop session, a system tray application appears there. Through this UI, users can connect or disconnect local devices, view current redirection status, and adjust configuration settings — all from within their remote desktop session.
For enterprise environments, FabulaTech offers robust support for Group Policy Object (GPO) configuration. IT administrators can centrally manage device redirection rules and options without requiring manual setup in each remote session. This ensures consistency, security, and compliance across large-scale deployments.
