Per Seat License

Most standard type of license. Per-Seat licensing means that every computer with the product installed requires a separate license. Some two-component products, like USB over Network require license only for one side, e.g., Server, while Client side remains free and can be installed for unlimited number of computers.
The price of one license for some products depends not only on the number of copies to be installed, but also on additional parameters like number of devices, ports, user sessions, etc.
Per User license

This license is common for two-component device redirection products designed for remote desktop environment. A license is required for each remote side where the Server component is installed. There are several license types depending on the number of users logged to the server. Number of licenses and number of user sessions can be varied in different combinations to adjust the requirements. See the examples below:
Single-User Environment

There are 20 remote Windows 7 virtual machines. Each user is connected to the individual virtual machine. A license is required for each virtual machine.
License: 20 licenses (Single user session).
Multi-User Terminal Server Environment

There is Windows Server. Up to 8 users are logged there.
License: Single license (10 user sessions).
Load-Balanced Environment

In case if several load-balanced Terminal Servers are used and it’s impossible to predict the number of users on each server, Site License model should be used.
Monthly License

Monthly License may be seen as a time-limited (and a lot cheaper) version of previously described Per Seat or Per User licenses. Monthly based licensing eliminates the need for up-front investments in software and reduces operational expenses.
For different products, the price of Monthly License may depend on additional parameters like number of devices, ports, user sessions, etc.
Site License

Site Licensing is based on the number of concurrent remote desktop sessions within the company network where the product is used. It’s extremely useful and cost-effective for load-balanced environment.
Site license requires installation of License Server application (available for Windows).
Example

In case if several load-balanced remote desktop servers are used and it’s impossible to predict the number of users on each server, Site License model should be used.
License: Site License
Maximum Number of Sessions: 10
Licenses in use: 4
Available: 6.
