Error(2) Module:FtShellApp(260)

Hi,
 
this is my first post in the forum. We have been using VSPK for quite a long time now. Now we encountered (on 2 machines) a new error:
 
VSPK
program cannot start because of the following error:
Error(2) Module:FtShellApp(260)
 
I noticed that another software (Vodafone Mobile Connect) is also installed on these machines. But this uses COM 17,19,20. VSPK pair is COM4 to 5.
I noticed that the pair has suddenly vanished from the COM list in the device manager.
 
Any suggestions/ideas? (my suspicion is that the Vodafone software is interfering somehow) Maybe somebody had a similar error?!
 
On my own PC (without the Vodafone software) i never had this error.

Hello bughunter,
 
This errorr coda says that VSPK service is not running.
Try starting it manually:
Start->Run->services.msc
Find there Virtual Serial Port Kit service and restart it.
Try launching VSPK now.
 
And please check your VSPK version. If it s lower then 5.2.2 then you are advised to upgrade it.
