Serial port splitter - inexplicable behaviour

Hello,
I'm a HAM Radio operator and I want to use the serial port splitter to split the RADIO USB communciation port (COM3) to 2 different applications. I installed the "the trial version" but up to now I could not get it run
Following configuration I use:
Radio connected by USB (to COM 3)
splitt it up to COM 13 and COM 23

1. trial (1. day) - everything runs perfectly (without any problem)
2. trial (2. day) - impossible to have a communciation on COM 13, COM23 without any problem
3. trial (3. day) - everything runs perfectly (without any problem, COM 13 AND COM 23)
4. trial (4. day) - impossible to have a communciation on COM 13, COM23 without any problem

When having trouble, I tried to connect the software used with COM 13, directly to COM3 - then immediately the communcation resumed - (but of course SPLIT no more available, as it is connected to the port that needs to be splitted)

I tried some solution proposed by an other user (IV3IPS) who has had similar problems but no way to solve it (the solution was a check/repair of WIN system files)

Now I'm stucked and have no real ideas what to do

Thank you for all help

Best regards,
Fernand Wolff (LX1FWF)

Hello!

We would need AccessPort logs from the physical and both virtual ports.
Please download the AccessPort utility from here:
http://www.sudt.com/en/ap/

Then run the logging for all three ports and reproduce the issue.
Send the resulting logs to support@fabulatech.com

Dear Support Team,

I downloaded the software and tried to monitor the COM ports, but after getting 2 times a blue screen - due to the proposed software monitor I cancel it. Perhaps it's due to age and the last update of the software monitor (Date: 2012-04-23)
Due to that fact, it is impossible to me to send you the required LOG'S.

Do you know an other port monitor (more recent then the one you propose).

Thank you for all help

Best regards,

Hello again.

Please make sure that you are stopping the monitoring in AccessPort before closing this program, this is the most probable cause for the BSOD.

Let us know if this is not the case.

Dear Support Team,

I get the BSOD as soon as I stopped the monitoring.

Both applications still runs

What is the exact start-up procedure for the monitoring or is there no difference (see below):

1. Procedure
Start WIN
Start the application that access the ports
Start monitoring
Stop monitoring
Stop the applications
Shut-down windows

2. Procedure
Start WIN
Start monitoring
Start the application that access the ports
Stop monitoring
Stop the applications
Shut-down windows

3. Procedure
Start WIN
Start monitoring
Start the application that access the ports
Stop the applications
Stop monitoring
Shut-down windows

Best regards,

Dear Support Team,

I tried following:
Start the application that access the ports
Start monitoring
Stop monitoring
Stop the applications
No information is recorded on the monitoring windows

When I start the monitoring tool before the application that access the ports
the splitted ports COM13 and COM 23 disappear (are no more available)
If I start anyway the applications, they will not start correctly - as the ports are no more available - and when I stop the monitoring I get a BSOD

Thank you for all help and suggestions

Best regards,
Fernand Wolff (LX1FWF)
