Redirection of fingerprint readers to a VM
« on: May 19th, 2008, 6:35pm »

I'm trying to redirect a Digital Persona USB fingerprint reader to a vm using the USB for RDP product. It seems that something happens in the RDP virtual channel that the device does not receive enough electricity (the red light emitted by a led is not normally bright), however is I try the same with the classic USB over Network product, the biometric sensor works perfectly.

why is this? is fabulatech working on this issue?

Thanks

it does work with USB over network 3.4 but I need it to work with the product that is RDP ready to combine it with a connection broker to redirect fingerprint readers from hundreds of thin clients to hundreds of VMs

thanks

Enrique,

Just wait a bit until we release the next version of USB for Remote Desktop. Your device will work fine there.
USB over Network 3.4 is based on new drivers that's why it works. As soon as we release new USB for Remote Desktop (based on new drivers) it also will work fine.

Thanks!

Hi
Do you have a release date for this upgrade. Any chance that the Dr Wills device will work in the new version without restarting my host machine. We are keen to have a solution for this
regards
Keith

Remote access to the device can help significantly.
Please let us know by email if that's possible.
