iUSB of extension USB over IP network design

Abstract:For sharing the USB peripheral over IP network, the conception ofiUSB that is the extension of USB over IP network is introduced. The implementing ofiUSB is adding the VHCI （virtual host controller interface） in the USB driver of the client, and adding the VDD （virtual device driver） in the USB driver of the server. For the protocal ofiUSB is independent of the OS, the most merit of the iUSB is that the USB peripheral can be transparently accessed among different OS platform. In addition, the iUSB implementing method is different from the traditional method of RPC for sharing peripheral on the network. The iUSB can transfer more peripheral information and control information, lighten the burden of the service, and be more safety.
