Server: Disconnect Client from USB-Device

Hello,

I have two questions regarding USB over Network Version 5.1.11:

1. When a Client is connected to an USB-Device and it is then plugged out,
how do I prevent the Server from remebering the Client and reconnecting the USB-Device to it as soon as it is replugged?
(It was like that in Version 4.7.5)
- If it can't be disabled, how can I disconnect a Client from a Device using only the Server application? (unshare and share doesn't work, it always remembers the Client and reconnects to it)

2. We use the Command "list -a" for usbclncmd.exe pretty frequently, which has never been a problem. But Version 5.1.11 adds a significant delay to this command since it's also displaying "discovered Servers" and then waits a second or so before closing.
Is it possible to disable the "discovered Servers" feature?

Kind regards,
Emanuel

Hi Emanuel,

1) You can use the "Prevent from sharing" option (Permanent, Until the System restart, Until the device unplug) on USB over Network (server) side for this purpose.
2) We are planning to implement this feature (disable/enable the "discovered servers") in the new release of USB over Network.

Hello Sergey,

Thank you for the response!

to 2)
any eta on that update?

to 1)
unfortunately it would then just stop sharing the Device as opposed to disconnecting it from the Client. And after sharing it again it reconnects to the Client it was connected to before it was unplugged.
Think of the following case: A. connects to a device using USB over Network (Client),
later that day he unpluggs it to use it at a remote workplace, in the evening he comes back, plugs the device in again and goes home. The next morning no one can connect to the device until A. arrives at work, because the Server reconnected it to A.'s Client.
Version 4.7.5 would disconnect the device if it's plugged out and plugged in again.
Version 5.1.11 remembers the Client it was connected to, before the device was plugged out, and gives no other options to disconnect a device from a client using USB over Network (Server)

Is there any option to prevent USB over Network (Server) from reconnecting to a device when it's plugged out and plugged in again?
Or any option to force disconnect a device from a client?

Hi Emanuel,

1) we plan to publish the new release of USB over Network within one or two months.

2) You wrote the following "no one can connect to the device until A. arrives at work".
You can activate the "Allow connecting when the USB device is occupied by another user" option on USB over Network (server) side:
http://www.fabulatech.com/usb-over-network-server-help/sharing-advanced.html
After that you'll have the possibility to reconnect your usb device from any client.
