Device enumeration

Guys. for this application to be universally useful it needs to be able enumerate USB devices that are present in the system NOT just enumerate those that are actively plugged in/unplugged. I have an application that needs access to USB devices in a remote, unattended, observatory several thousand miles away. Expecting that some one be there to plugin and unplug a device so that you can enumerate them is quite unrealistic.

Please look into this.

Thanks.

Hi Vince,

Could you please describe it more detailed by example, so we could catch what exactly do you mean.

What exactly do you mean by "enumeration"?
Do you mean the list of devices in the USB over Network Client program?

Also, if you wish to avoid manual sharing of USB devices on the physical side, you can switch the server to "Auto-sharing mode", so all USB devices will be shared automatically.

Awaiting your reply.

Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

Unless I'm missing something: I have a machine that has
several USB peripherals attached to it, a variety of
Cameras, Telescope control, Observatory control
peripherals, etc.

After installing the server  component  on the machine, all buttons across the top of the application are  grayed out
and there is nothing to the select on the "My Computer"
Icon. I don't see any of these peripherals as sharable
unless they are physically power cycled or unplugged and
plugged in again.

Does this explain the scenario?

Update:

It appears that once the server software is installed the
devices are indeed properly enumerated. Apologies for
the original post. IF there was a note about reboot
after installation I totally missed it.

Thanks.
