I just installed the demo version and hyper-terminal says Unable to open com X, no matter what number I try.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Hello!

The reason for this may be the following: when you "Add virtual serial port" you have there the option to choose "connection type" - server and client.

So if you choose "client" type and do not specify the ip address of the remote PC (it's "localhost" by default) Hyper Terminal will tell you "unable to open COM port".

Also please try to use Serial Port Redirect locally, connect two applications (let's say two Hyper Terminals) on the same PC. To do this choose  "server" in the "connection type" option.

Awaiting your feedback Wink
