Hi Forum , I am evaluting the Network Serial Port Kit. I have the problem , that Iam not able to connect a remote shared physical serial port. this serial port is the comport applied by a USB driver of the modem. Im trying to connect to a PCMCIA card and a Samsung Mobilephone wich is connected via USB.

The localmashine says connected, and the remotemashine too. hyperterminal also says connected but in fact , im not able to type anything like atz or ati wich works if i connect with hyperterm to the usb-comport locally ..

any ideas??

thanks a lot

At first please verify that you are testing the latest 5.1 version of Network Serial Port kit.

Then, to resolve your problem, we need to examine 2 logs created by Portmon tool. Please use free PortMon tool to monitor and write logs. You can download it from our web site:

Filip, please create 2 logs for Network Serial Port Kit v5.1 (from the both remote and local sides) and email it to us (to support@fabulatech.com). We'll compare these logs and try to resolve the problem.

Hi Andrew.. very interesting:

I downloaded the portmon tool to make the logs ( i allready sent it to you ).
The problem described didnt happen again, suddenly i was able to connect to the PCMCIA Card in the remote system. The problem i had using the serial connection was another one, i described it in the email.

But the interessting thing i figured out now :
today i wanted to test it again, but again i wasnt able to connect to the remote serial (pcmcia). ok i started the portmon to make a new logfile ... and.. after that i was able to access the remote serial !!!
after i once started portmon i allways can connect, until the systems are not restarted
what changes your portmon tool to the serial configuration ??

cheers

Yes, very interesting Smiley
Filip, is it possible to share your PCMCIA card over internet (using Network Serial Port Kit of course), so we could connect it from our lab and reproduce the issue.

Please contact us by email support@fabulatech.com or PM me.

Thank you.
