question setup

Hello,

I'm wondering if this setup can work.

<device-A> -- serial-cable -- <computer> -- tcp/ip network -- <computer> -- serial cable -- <device-B>

Device A and B should be able to communicate with each other via serial cable. So the computers over the tcp/ip network act like a 'bridge'

Hello,

I just scanned the forum for this same problem.
We'd like to connect two proprietary serial hardware devices via physical serial cable to two PCs (WIN XP) which are situated in different locations and connected to the internet over DSL routers.
So, in essence, this is a bridge application, as ito already wrote

Thank you for any hint
