As for 2023, the problem was solved in the latest versions of Amazon WorkSpaces Client.

Amazon WorkSpaces Client software 4.0.0 released in June 30, 2021 is the first 64-bit release of the Windows client application. In case of upgrading from an older 32-bit version 3.x it may break compatibility with some versions of FabulaTech software for Remote Desktop. This incompatibility will be fixed in the next versions of FabulaTech software. There are two workarounds to temporarily fix this issue right now:

Using 32-bit version of Amazon WorkSpaces Client

  1. On the workstation PC, uninstall 64-bit AWS Client version 4.x.
  2. Reboot the PC.
  3. Download latest 32-bit client and install it.

DLL copying

  1. On the workstation PC, navigate to the folder:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\FabulaTech\Netlink 3\
  2. Copy the file ftvchan.dll somewhere, for example to the Desktop. Then, rename that copied file to ftvchan64.dll
  3. Move the file ftvchan64.dll to the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Amazon Web Services, Inc\Amazon WorkSpaces\vchan_plugins\
  4. Restart Amazon WorkSpaces Client.
