Configuring the Program When Tray Icon Is Not Available

When Windows is running in kiosk mode or in case if tray menu is not accessible, there is no standard way to configure the program (since no way to access tray icon).

In this case, /notray mode resolves the issue. Once enabled, the program settings can be accessed using hotkey.

To make this permanent, launch regedit, find the REG_SZ parameter Serial Port for Remote Desktop Server in the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Then add /notray option to the end of its value:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Serial Port for Remote Desktop Server\ftsprd.exe /autorun /notray

When Serial Port for Remote Desktop is launched with /notray option, hidden menu can be accessed using Alt + 2 (numpad)
