USB for Remote Desktop (Workstation) allows redirecting USB Ports to remote desktop sessions making them available for remote users.
To redirect the USB port it's necessary to plug into the port any device and press the
button.
After that the port becomes redirected and the device plugged into this port is automatically redirected as well (before it has been unplugged).
Note: Only the port with a USB device plugged in can be redirected.
When the USB device is unplugged the port remains redirected and the unplugged USB device doesn't.
When we redirect one of the RootHub ports, then depending on the device speed the port will be redirected either as a HighSpeed one or as a non-HighSpeed one. You will receive a notification about the supported USB device speed and the port speed will be indicated in the assigned port name in the USB for Remote Desktop Workstation window as well.
When the RootHub port is redirected as a HighSpeed but you need it to support devices regardless of their speed, a non-HignSpeed device should be plugged into the port and redirected again. The same applies to the non-HighSpeed devices.
To stop USB port redirecting, choose the port and click the
button. The port becomes unredirected but the device plugged into this port stays redirected until it is unplugged.
