I have been a home automation enthusiast for many years. While migrating the system to 64-bit, I discovered several of my interfaces did not have 64-bit drivers for Win XP.
Project Goal: Direct the GPS data flow from the Nexus iSR Hawk device, to a laptop computer running mapping programs from Delorme.
For some time I have been using a Home Security System, which came with a PC control program. The interface to the security system is a basic RS232 serial link. This works fine, however the problem is that you are restricted by the fact that the serial cable is a must.
If you have another interesting solution, feel free to share it with the FabulaTech community!
