Topic: USB Device + IGEL UD3-LX 41 – cannot map device into session

Hi there,

I am testing with the USB for Remote Desktop Software.

The szenario is:
-UD3-LX 41 IGEL with a LogiLink 1Gbit USB device (AX88179 driver)
-Next step should be changing the USB devices into any other
-Problem is, I do not get the device into the session

Client:
-IGEL UD3-LX 41; Firmware: 5.07.100.01

Tested Remote Machines:
-Windows Server 2008 R2 64Bit
-Windows 7 Professional 64Bit

Tested Software:
-USB for Remote Desktop 5.0.2
-USB for Remote Desktop 5.0.6
-USB for Remote Desktop 5.1 beta

IGEL Universal Management Settings:
-Session -> RDP -> RDP Global -> Fabulatech USB Redirection -> is activated
-System -> Firmware Customization -> Features -> FabulaTech USB Redirection -> is activated

Software tests (both W2008 R2 and Win7):
-USB for Remote Desktop 5.0.2 and 5.0.6 causes the yellow-black symbol “Running in local session” in the Systray program
-USB for Remote Desktop 5.1 beta recognizes the device, but when I try to get to the device manager, an error says: Explorer.EXE -> The resource is still in use.
-While USB for Remote Desktop 5.1 beta is installed, i cannot use everything working with the Explorer.EXE well and I get errors in any programm, using the Explorer.EXE
[...]
So, when I use 5.1, I see the device, Windows collapses in any other functions, such as working with Explorer.EXE, executing Files... when I use 5.0.2 or 5.0.6 I cannot map the device into the session, but my Windows is running good.

Please help  Huh

Solution could be: Taking the functionality of mapping of 5.1 beta and put it into 5.0.2 software  Cool

Hi Martin,
According to the official website of Igel
http://www.myigel.biz/public/IGEL_UNIVERSAL_DESKTOP_FIRMWARE/LX/V5/lx_5.07.100.txt?forcedownload (this firmware contains 5.1 version of USB for Remote Desktop (workstation)) you must use the 5.1 version of USB for Remote Desktop (server) on your Win7/2008r2 PC.
Please don't forget that the "RDP legacy mode" option must be disabled in the following section: Setup - Configuration - RDP - RDP Global - Options.
I sent you a message via email. Please reply.

Hey Sergey,

indeed, according to the document, I should use just the 5.1, but I thought, I try the 5.0.2 and 5.0.6, because Windows is collapsing with version 5.1.

The RDP legacy option was never enabled.

Best regards,
Martin
