USB Signature Pads

Has anyone experimented with a USB signature pad? I have the software installed. The device shows up and is recognized. When I do a signature it appears all jittery. I am also connecting through citrix (ica). I tried RDP as well and the same thing happens. A signature is formed but the lines go all over the place.

Yes I am using the newest version. I am not sure if any kind of latency causes the issue. It seems to generally go in the right direction then all of a sudden it just starts scribbling. If I hold the pen down to the screen it will start making lines near that area.

Are the server and the client machines on the same LAN? Or you're trying this over the Internet?

It is a WAN connection going through VPN. It has response times of 20ms. This is where our citrix servers are located.

We have been using the serial verison of topaz signature pads fine, but we want to get away from serial due to supply and having to have another peice of technology serial to usb adapter for it to work.

I just did a local test from one computer to another one. The signature came across perfectly! So it seems like the software does not have anyway of fixing sensitive devices regarding latency. I think if you can incorporate that into your product it would be a game changer.

Any thoughts on how to improve reliability for sensitive devices?

I'll create a task for our devs to investigate this.

You should try enabling URB-request caching. Do the following:

1. Make sure you use the latest version 3.1.4

2. On the physical side (Workstation) create "HIDDeviceOption" parameter with the "DWORD" type and value "1" in the following registry branch:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ftusbrdwks

3. Restart the Workstation service or replug the device

Let me know if it helps.

I added that registry key then restarted. I launched my application and it first seemed better, but then it started doing the same thing.

Here is what the signature looks like currently. It is still choppy.

Hello

I know this thread is old, but we have the same Problem. We use USBforRemote Server 5.0.2 and Citrix Xenapp 6.5. Igel are Linux UD5-LX 40, FW 5.03.190.01. We use Signpads from Wacom STU-520A.

The signature, when signing slowly it works pretty good. But when you sign fast, then it Looks like the Picture from "thec0dy":

http://s9.postimg.org/3uirur627/signature.jpg

And normally People are very fast to sign a document, so we cannot rollout in this condition. Is there something we can do to improve this?

Thank you!
