Why cannot open shared USB disk  by TCP proxy?

Huh
My shared USB disk computer is a internet computer,
And I'm in a local LAN, the LAN has a TCP proxy server, I must access the shared USB disk by the TCP proxy server, not a NAT server. But I found I can connect the shared USB Disk(In window, it shows "connected"),but when I refresh the windows explorer,
the windows XP go into no responsing status. the USB disk can't be open.

Why?(I use the USB.Over.Network.v.4.4)
(if my computer has a internet IP,I can access the shared USB disk)
I have tested that if I install a TCP proxy in my USB disk computer, the tcp proxy connects the USB server port, and open a different TCP port, then I use the USB client connect the pproxy port, I can open the USB disk!
if the proxy server runs on a other computer, I can not open!
Why?

This version of USB over Network (4.4) is too old.
Do you have the possibility to use the latest version for your purpose ?
